Talk to the Mage of Zamorak in the Wilderness north of Edgeville and he will tell you that it is too dangerous to talk here and tell you to meet him inside the Chaos Temple in Varrock.

Make your way to the Chaos Temple found southeast of Aubury's Magic Shop in Varrock and talk to the Mage of Zamorak again. Ask him where he gets his runes from and he'll tell you about the Abyss and how he's having problems using it. Agree to help him and he'll give you a Scrying Orb and tell you to teleport to the Rune Essence Mine from 3 different locations so that the orb can record how you got there.

Now teleport to the Rune Essence Mine with the Scrying Orb in your inventory by talking to the wizards found at 3 of the locations in the table below. It is recommended that you go to Aubury first as you are already in Varrock. After you visit three locations, the orb will begin to glow.

Image last updated: Jul 26, 2021 Update Image? - Once done, take the Scrying Orb back to the Mage of Zamorak and speak to him twice, and you are finished with your task. You may now visit the Mage of Zamorak in the Wilderness and use his a right-click option to teleport to the Abyss.
