Getting There

The Garden of Kharid is located North of Al Kharid and East of the Al Kharid Mine. The fastest ways to get there, from fastest to slowest, are:

Farming for Favour

When trying to quickly amass Crux Eqal favour, choosing the right seed in crucial. Each herb seed has a specific Crux Eqal favour value. If it can be planted in an herb patch (or a vine herb patch), then it will give you Crux Eqal favour when harvested. Exception: Gout tubers will not yield any favour. Note that you can collect up to 100,000 favour before you can not accumulate any more.

Plant Power

The fastest source of Crux Eqal favour is planting your daily herb seed. However, this can be enhanced by unlocking the Plant Power upgrades in $plnkfull3563's reward shop. Until you unlock any of these upgrades, you are limited to planting only 1 herb seed at a time in any given herb patch, which will yield a minimum of 5 herbs when harvested. However, as you unlock these upgrades, those numbers will increase.

Unlock Farming Level Total Seeds Planted Maximum Herb Yield Minimum Herb/Seed
None 9 1 3 3
Plant Power (Tier 1) 50 2 5 2.5 (5/2)
Plant Power (Tier 2) 70 4 8 2
Plant Power (Tier 3) 90 7 12 1.714 (12/7)
Plant Power (Tier 4) 110 10 15 1.5 (3/2)

Because the Crux Eqal value of each herb seed is per seed, planting more than 1 at a time will multiply the amount of Crux Eqal favour you earn when you harvest. For example, if you plant 4 Guam seeds in a patch and it was your daily herb seed, you will earn 200 Crux Eqal favour when you harvest them later. If it wasn't your daily herb seed, you'd earn 40 Crux Eqal favour: 10 per seed. You can change the number of seeds you plant by Right clicking an herb patch and hitting the configure option, as seen in the image below. Note that the patch must be EMPTY; nothing planted and no weeds can be present.

It's worth mentioning that while you do get more herbs from each harvest when you plant more seeds, the amount of herbs per seed goes down the more seeds you plant at a time. You can help offset this deficit by using composts to increase the minimum number of herbs:
  • $ilnkfull2166 increases the minimum yield by 1
  • $ilnkfull2167 increases the minimum yield by 2
  • $ilnkfull29661 increases the minimum yield by 3

Daily Herb

While the most favour that any herb seed can yield every day is 45, upon reaching level 50 Farming, $plnkfull3561 will randomly choose an herb seed that will have a favour value of 50 until the next daily game reset. You can learn your daily herb seed by talking to her in person or via the NPC Contact Spell (requires Dream Mentor). This roll has a soft reset, meaning that if you have (for example) Guam as your daily herb seed, game time passes the daily reset, and you don't leave the game, your daily herb seed will still be Guam until you exit to the lobby or logout entirely. Bloodweed, Gout tuber, and seeds that must be planted in Herblore Habitat's vine herb patches are not able to be rolled as a player's daily herb seed. Evidence also suggests that you can only roll daily herb seeds that you have the Farming level to grow, but this has not yet been confirmed.

Thieving for Seeds

Within the Garden, there are 3 different NPC you can steal from. The least interesting drop table is accessed by Thieving from Ghotistix, who can be found by the pond on the East side of the Garden. Thieving from him, or any of the other druids, requires 42 Thieving. Unfortunately, he only yields 43 XP per success and his pockets don't have anything interesting: you have equal chances of receiving $ilnkfull843, $ilnkfull822, $ilnkfull830, or $ilnkfull840 from him.

The Crux Eqal Druids and Knights both have very high chances of only yielding $ilnkfull295 when stolen from, but they also have a chance to yield anima stones, herb seeds, or $ilnkfull32074s. The most useful drop from them is the $ilnkfull32075, which provides unlimited teleports to the Garden of Kharid. It is only less rare a drop than the $ilnkfull32073, which is a cosmetic item with a drop rate of 1/50,000 that can only be obtained by thieving from the Crux Eqal druid that can be found wandering South of the herb patch. Both the Crux Eqal Druids and the Knights have to ability to obtain more than 1 drop when pickpocketing. The table below outlines the Level requirements to obtain drops from these NPCs.

Thieving Level 42 42 52 62 72 83 93
Agility Level - - 42 52 62 - 83
Thieving Experience 43 58 277.5

Possible drops for the Druids and Knights include:

Avantoe seed Cadantine seed Catalytic anima stone (1-3) Coins (275-325)
Dwarf weed seed Elemental anima stone (1-10) Fellstalk seed Guam seed
Harralander seed Irit seed Kwuarm seed Lantadyme seed
Marrentill seed Mystical sand seed Ranarr seed Sand seed
Snapdragon seed Spirit weed seed Supreme growth potion (universal) Tarromin seed
Toadflax seed Torstol seed Wergali seed

While it is possible to receive most herb seeds by thieving from the Knights or the Druids, the Druids drop seeds much less commonly and tend to drop the lower level seeds. If you are thieving in the Garden of Kharid with the goal of obtaining herb seeds, you are better off stealing from the Knights.
