Walkthrough

Travel to the Harvest Hollow bonfire and speak with Guy. He will tell you that he wants to bring more color to the area but needs your help doing it. Accept the quest when prompted and he will explain exactly what he has in mind.

Grab your dyes (Blue, Green, Purple, and Red) and head to the Southern docks in the City of Um. There you will find your contact, Dolly, who will advise that she has something better than "ghost firelighters" to offer. In order to make them though, she will need the dyes (how convenient that you should have just what she needs) and wants to be paid... in pumpkins? Despite how sketchy this entire situation sounds, hand over the dyes and a deal will be struck. You will now need to report back to Guy.

Return to the bonfire and let Guy know about the deal, pumpkins and all. Somehow he expected she would want that and has already made headway on acquiring some for payment. Your job is to now go check on how it is coming along with Doyle.

Walk to the far West side of Harvest Hollow where you will find several graves covered in crows and a not so scary scarecrow. Talking with Doyle you will find that the nearby crows have been picking on him and eating all the pumpkin seeds. You will begin trying to help make Doyle scarier and to frighten away the crows. First you will help remove a flower so that he is no longer considered "lily-livered" by the crows.

Next hurdle will be making it so he isn't "yeller" anymore. This is done by changing out his yellow pumpkin head. Continue the conversation until he tells you what type of pumpkin he wants, then walk to the Harvest cart just South of him and you will pick out a black pumpkin as his Replacement scarecrow head. Note that the cart's action option will read "Deposit Harvest cart" even though you are taking an item not leaving one.

Walk back to Doyle so he can swap out his pumpkins. This will make the crows start to crack, but they will stand by each other and resist the fear. Your last plan of "attack" will be to give Doyle a backbone to stand up to the crows with. You can either use an Ancient torso from the nearby activities OR a Muspah spine. This will be what finally does the trick. Doyle will muster all of his courage and scream causing the crows to no longer be able to resist fleeing in terror.

Return to Guy once more and give him the good news. He will inform you that you are welcome to assist in fulfilling Dolly's orders or keep this place colorful by tossing in logs. Either way the deal will now be complete and the Hollow be more colorful.
