Items Needed
3 Papyrus, Ball of wool, Sack of potatoes, Unlit candle, 10 Silk, Red dye, Yellow dye, Bowl, 8 Empty sacks, 12 Willow branches (can be obtained during the quest but it's recommended to purchase them from the Grand Exchange), Farming equipment* (Rake, Spade, Secateurs), Tinderbox, 10 logs (possibly more).
* Required only if planting tree to obtain the branches.
Papyrus can be found at the Ardougne General Store, Tai Bwo Wannai Jungle Store, or Ali The Merchant in Al Kharid. A Unlit candle can be found in the Candle shop in Catherby, the Watchtower, or the standard at the Entrana Church, where you can take one from the standard at the risk of being damaged by "Higher Powers". Dyes can be gotten from Aggie in Draynor or bought from Oronwen in Lletya

Talk to Auguste on Entrana. He is north of the Herblore shop. (You can't take any combat-related items to Entrana).

Agree to help him make a balloon. You will then need to gather the following items: 3 Papyrus, a Ball of wool, a Sack of 10 potatoes, and an Unlit candle.

Once you have all the items, head back to Auguste. He will ask you to make an origami balloon. Use the Ball of Wool with the Papyrus to make the Balloon structure and then use the Unlit candle with it. Talk to Auguste again and a cutscene will ensue in which you will test the origami balloon, and watch as it catches fire.

Talk to Auguste again and he will ask you for the other two papyrus and the sack of potatoes. Give them to him and then watch another cutscene in which you test another balloon. This time, it will get attacked by a mob.

Now it is time to build the real balloon. Auguste will need the following items: 10 Silk, Red dye, Yellow dye, a Bowl, 8 Sandbags (Buy 8 sacks and use them on a sand pit, or use buckets of sand with them), and 12 willow branches harvested from a special willow sapling that he gives you.
If you bought the willow branches from the Grand Exchange, then you do not have to plant the Willow sapling.
In case you do not already have the branches, it is suggested to plant the willow sapling first and then gather the other items, as the willow tree will take some time to grow. The closest farming patch is just west of Lumbridge. When the tree is fully grown, cut off the branches with a pair of secateurs. It will take awhile to get the required amount of branches, as they respawn quite slowly. Hence, it is recommended to hop worlds to harvest willow branches quickly without waiting for them to grow. You can also cut willow branches from any other player-grown willow tree as well.
Note: If you lose the sapling, it will cost you 30K to get it back. Auguste will give you a basket of apples to have the farmer watch over your tree also. If you have other willow trees growing, you can get branches from them too.

Give all of the items to Auguste and then use the branches on the basket he gives you (you can take more than 1 trip to bring him all the items).

Speak to Auguste again and he will want you to gather 10 normal logs and a tinderbox. Once you have them, head back to Auguste, but make sure your weight is less than 40kg.

After you talk to him, the following screen will appear:

The object is to fly to Taverley by having the balloon avoid all the airborne objects. Use the following sequence to reach the other side successfully.
Screen 1
Drop sandbag, Burn log, Relax x9, Pull emergency rope, Relax x3, Pull normal rope, Relax x4
Screen 2
Burn log, Relax, Burn log, Relax x10, Burn log, Relax x5
Screen 3
Relax x7, Pull emergency rope, Pull normal rope, Relax x3, Burn log, Relax x4, Pull normal rope
Note:If you fail early on, you will automatically be transported to Entrana. If you fail above the sea, you will need to grab a plank close by to you. If you fail, you will need to return to Auguste and try again with 10 more logs.
