In order to "summon" Murray, you will need to complete ANY Ritual using a Speed glyph. The level of the glyph (I, II, III) does not matter not does the Ritual as a whole.
During That Old Black Magic he is the focus of the Skelly by Everlight subquest. In it, you will help him obtain a new trumpet. After which, he can be used as a resting Musician.
