It is HIGHLY suggested to not use a <a href="/database/item/pet-kitten">kitten</a> when trying to get this medal as they have a very poor catch rate. Use of a <a href="/database/item/pet-cat">Cat</a> or <a href="/database/item/wily-cat">Wily cat</a> is advised. Be aware that <a href="/database/item/overgrown-cat">Overgrown cats</a> cannot catch rats. <br/><br/> Earning this item is one of the Medium <a href="$adlnk7">Varrock Achievement Diary</a> tasks. <br/><br/> If you have unlocked the entire <a href="/rs3/special/mays-quest-caravan#hub">Hub track</a>, this item can be retrieved from the Quest Item Storage chest at the <a href="/rs3/special/mays-quest-caravan">Quest Point Caravan</a> if lost or destroyed. Otherwise, a new one can be obtained from <a href="/database/npc/gertrude">Gertrude</a>. Additional medals can be obtained by dropping one in front of her, then asking her for another one. This method can be repeated as many times as needed. <br/><br/> There is no need to keep this item, it is simply cosmetic. As such, it can be destroyed or kept as you desire.
